The trenches are deadly. Especially the no man’s. There are lots of diseases in the trenches. You could die from diseases. The food wasn’t the best.
But it was better than nothing. The new zealand soldiers were low on grenades. So they used their empty jam containers for grenades
Yes you are so correct that the food was not the best. Better than nothing can get pretty bad in war time aye? Sounds like the NZ soldiers were very ingenious. Not dying in war is a hard job if you are in the trenches!
