Jingle Bells

Dashing through the sand
In a 4 wheeled open car
Over the sand dunes we go
Laughing all the way,
Drinking ice cold sprite
Makes my spirit bright
What fun it is to drive and sing

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to drive
In a 4 wheeled open car, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to drive
In a 4-wheeled open car

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a drive
The car was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
He got into a tree
And then we got upset
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to drive
In a 4-wheeled open car, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to drive
In a 4-wheeled open car

I can sleep 100%
Mosquito's eat me like cake

The summer holidays are best
You can relax and get sleep
your parents think your a pest
now you have to sweep
You have 6 weeks of break
So you can make a mess
its time to eat your steak
playing against your siblings till you win in chess

Extension Reflection

It has been a fun and weird year. Lockdown happened and it messed up the plans that had been made. When we came back from lock we had to work hard and fast. But we had to be careful because we never will never know if there was going to be another lockdown. What happened is another lockdown. It was shorter than the other but still hard. We came back to school and we did paideia seminars at the same time. We made it through two lockdowns it was hard to keep up with what school week it was, what time the google meets. But when we came back for the 2nd time we all knew what to do. It was a hard year but we got through it. It was a very weird.

Jacob the Great

 Jacob the Great

Jacob hated finishing things almost as much as he loved starting them. As a result, he had gotten into a million hobbies and activities, but he never stuck with any of them long enough to get any good.

He begged his mother for months for a guitar so that he could play Black Eyed Peas songs to Angie, a girl he liked, but after he finally got one for Christmas, he found out that guitars don’t play themselves. He took a few lessons, but strumming the strings hurt his fingers and he didn’t like holding the pick, so now the five-hundred dollar guitar lives under his bed.

After reading an ad in the back of one of his comic books, Jacob decided that he wanted a WonderSweeper 5000 metal detector, so that he could find buried pirate treasure. So he mowed lawns all summer and didn’t spend his money on ice-cream like his younger brother, Alex. He saved it all in a shoe box in his closet. Then he shoveled driveways all winter, and he didn’t spend his money on candy and chips like his classmates. By the time spring came he had saved $200, and he purchased the Wonder-Sweeper 5000 metal detector. He beeped it around the park for a while, be he soon found out that no pirates had ever set sail in his neighborhood, and if they had they didn’t leave any treasure. Even though he found a key ring, forty-seven cents, and all the bottle caps he could throw, he buried the metal detector in his closest.

Given Jacob’s history with hobbies, it was no surprise that Jacob’s father was reluctant to buy him a magician’s kit for his birthday. “Geez, Jacob… You sure you wouldn’t rather I got you more guitar lessons?” He suggested. Jacob was insistent. “Dad, you’ve got to get me the magician’s kit. This time I’ll stick with it for real. I promise! Come on, Dad,” Jacob begged. Jacob’s father sighed and then replied, “Oh, I don’t know, Jacob. Things are awfully tight right now.” But Jacob’s father was reminded of his own youth long ago, when he quit football and started karate practice before hardly getting his equipment dirty. So when Jacob’s birthday came around, Jacob was both surprised and pleased to find the magician’s kit that he had desired so badly with a big bright bow on it.

Jacob opened up the box and unwrapped the many parts in the kit. As he did so, he imagined sawing his pet cat in half and putting it back together to the amazement of his friends and family. He took the many fake coins, trick cards, and rope pieces of varying length on the kitchen table and imagined pulling rabbits out of his hat and turning them into pigeons with a mysterious puff of smoke. As Jacob continued pulling plastic thumbs, foam balls, and giant playing cards out of the magic kit, a commercial on the TV caught his attention. “Hey kids! Have you ever wanted to go to space? Experience what it’s like to be an astronaut? Do you want to explore the universe? Well, now you can.” As the commercial continued playing, Jacob walked away from the magic kit on the kitchen table and stared at the TV screen longingly. “For only $195 you can go to space camp and live life like an astronaut for a whole weekend. Enroll now for a once in a life time experience.” Jacob’s cry rang throughout the house as he yelled, “MOM!” He now knew what his true purpose in life was.

News reporter Spy

I am a news reporter paid to record and watch the spy kids. I get paid a lot to record them I didn’t want in the beginning because their enemies will want our videos to do stuff bad. But after I heard I will be paid a lot of money I couldn’t resist. So now here I am watching them trying to figure out what this door is for and how to open it.

I am not allowed to let them know that I am watching them, Because that could cause some drama and money. But I think they are blind because the code to open the door is door . I am not a spy but i'm smart enough to figure that out and they are spies so they need a lot of practice.

I saw one of them have explosives. I am going to go mad. They are getting on my nerves. They should keep going to spy school or something. I mean how stupid are kids these days. Here come the henchmen. Hahaha they got caught and they are going into the door that they couldn’t get into. I walk up to the door and say door and it opens.

I run into a place where they won’t see me and I watch. Nothing exciting is happening, just lots of talking. Oooh they are going to prison in this place. I have to save them. I look for the security room. I think that it will take a while to find it after like 1 hour. I have found the security room. Step 1 complete step 2 open all the prison doors. I don’t know which one I could research,  look at the buttons, watch and learn but that's the smart thing to do so I am going to press all of them.

I opened all of the doors as well as sounded the alarm. Well that's all i'm gonna do. I'm going home.

Pukeko Art

I drew the sun with Maori patterns because I identify as a Maori. I love Maori culture. Pukeko are one of my favourite birds. They are common in my area. The hill represents Mount Wellington. The moon is full of Maori patterns yet again I am a Maori and I represent it everywhere I go. I also love doing and watching the haka. I put hard work into drawing this. I think it is good compared to what it used to be.
